Cookie Party

Have you ever heard of Crumbl Cookies? Ya me neither, I guess its a shop where you can go buy cookies that they change out weekly so you always have the reoccurring customers. It’s kind of like the iPhone of cookies, keep the regulars that always have to upgrade every year but this is on a weekly basis. This is always a good idea, as it becomes a subscription based service, if you will, that long term and newbies can enjoy and can’t get enough of. Got your weekly cookies, great in just a couple days you will have to post about a whole new set of cookies. Otherwise you are left out of the social circle and god forbit that ever happens as we know during the Pandy that FOMO is a hell of a drug.

The Pink Box is something that distinguishes the brand from anything else in its genre. Imagine if you will cotton candy colored box that fits cookies perfectly side by side. Whether you order an individual cookie, but you’re not a psychopath are you? Why would you go to a cookie shop and order an single cookie, or you order a four pack you get their signature long horizontal box that cuddles these four precious soft cookies. When you start getting into the bigger counts is where you start to see more of the traditional sized boxes that lots of other bakery shops use. You get a six count box or a twelve count box. The larger boxes are not very exiting but the single and the four count boxes are the ones that you can post on your social media to impress your friends and family.

The Cookies at the time that I had my visit to this place were very unique, nothing like I’ve had before but then again I don’t think I’ve ever been to a cookie shop. Here is what was offered.

Milk Chocolate Chip classic just like you’d imagine. Soft which is always a plus and really good. I think I would give this cookie a Solid 6/10

Sugar Featuring Mother’s Circus Animal, this cookie was the best looking cookie in my opinion for this week. Seems like it was white chocolate along with an animal cookie and some sprinkles. I would say overall the cookie was decent. Not what I expected, seems like the white cholate really overpowers the animal cookie and sprinkles part of cookie and the base sugar cookie was really tasty but I think a common trait of all of these is that they are overly sweet. I would give this cookie a 7/10

Cinnamon Frybread was one that I was really not looking forward to tasting and maybe the most blah looking cookie for the week. I honestly do not see this cookie making the top of the list for posted cookies. Even if people like this cookie does not really bring anything to the table visually. Frybread cookie topped with a cinnamon buttercream. Not a very big fan of frybread but I honestly think that the cinnamon buttercream carried this cookie hard. I would say this cookie gets a 5/10

Red Velvet Cupcake was one that I was very intrigued by as I first laid my eyes on the cookies. Looks very interesting as red velvet is always a popular flavor of anything. Red velvet cookie with vanilla cream cheese and topped with more what seems to be some cookie pieces on top. So its red on white on red. It was not mind blowing at all very tamed flavor and just what I expected. I would give this cookie a 7/10

Strawberry Shortcake, this cookie was the cookie I could not wait to try. I am a sucker for anything strawberry and this I thought would be the best. When I first brought this back home, I cut a quarter of a piece out of this and it just felt so soft, the strawberry jam was perfectly centered which I was pretty stoked about because I’ve seen some of these that have the strawberries or the jam just oozing off the side of the cookie. Mine was picture perfect. The first time I tasted this I had given this a 7, but I believe I was being biased because of the strawberry, once I actually tasted this and was a bit more real with what I was having I think it would be pretty safe to say this cookie gets carried by the jam and the actually cookie was not it. A solid 6/10

Mallow Sandwich with Oreos was the only cookie available this week that was a sandwich style cookie. Two chocolate brownie cookies with Oreos and a fluffy center. I would say that this is my favorite cookie for the week. visually it looks really good, I think between this one and the Strawberry Shortcake they will be the top cookies posted. They were made for social media and you can tell that the people in charge of coming up with the flavors have a very big focus on making these photogenic. I would say the fluffy inside is what shines here and the brownie cookies with the Oreo crumbs on them are not bad but the inside steals the show. I think I would say this cookie is a 7.5/10

I think my first experience with the whole cookie fad was a decent one. Would I go back and ever buy the new flavors or have this become the new norm in my life? Nah I don’t think so, I think I have way too many things in my life going on right now to add a cookie obsession to the mix. I think this would be a neat place to show someone. Give someone their first luxury cookie experience and see what they think? Would they have their mind blown, probably not but it could give someone a good idea of what SoCal has really become, obsessed with anything that has some sort of aesthetic that can be posted on social media so you become that cool person.
